This gives me plenty to contemplate. I trust that to make an image means that everything stays in operating order from copy to recopy. Very attractive.

I was under the impression that partitioning a hard drive would make everything run faster. Theoretically, my financial stuff would do calculations more quickly if my HD didn't have to sort through audio and video material. At least that was my thinking.

On my old system I lost a a lot of data because the disk itself, rather than the software, went bad. Hence, I will be studying the ins and outs of backing up to a CD-RW disk no matter if I partition or not. Naturally, I need to read some more.
