Well, don't bow down just yet -- it was more luck than anything else. This was my reasoning: NTAP was fast growing, I thought that storage would be big, and NTAP had nice VC backing. I knew next to nothing about their technology. The key is to look at the big picture and not to be quick to the draw when a company with good fundamentals takes a little bit of a dive.

...and for the record, I have my fair share of bad buys too.
ALLR at $30, and CTXS at $65 are the most recent.
