Getting out while you are on top>
I agree that the valuations for SEBL, ITWO and NTAP are high. These stocks have earnings growth and all are pushing new highs. The most confusing thing to me is some theories ie,investors business daily, say to keep going with a stock that has reached highs on more volume. I guess investors come in all different shapes and sizes with different attitudes and tolerances we all must make our decisions regarding when to sell or buy for that matter. One thing I would say is to not let your gains that you have go down the tubes when weakness hits your investment. One thing alot of posters here talk about is when to sell or reduce positions in a stock. This, to me, shows a lack of planning on the part of the investor. Eventually I will have to sell a winner,as well as a loser it's just a fact. Unfortunately old pig nose greed stares us in the face or we hope for the QCOM type results. as an investor I like the compounding growth of stocks, I assume the risk to buy it, but I am bad at selling them, having watched some awesome gains(see CMGI) fall to pieces over the Last year and now watching JDSU set up like YHOO did before it tumbled, JDSU is well off it's high. Any insight from others on taking gains welcome.
