A tyrannical government will control weapons manufacture (if they intend to survive), so a degree of preparation is necessary and is what the 2nd addresses.

You must realize that the majority of your arguments are emotional and that you have more trust for government in general than most

I took that it into account that tyrannical govt. will control weapons manufacture. It will not take individuals to come up with some sort of weapons, if the situation really warrants. Still an armed resistance will be as effective as present day militia. Also who decides when govt. has turned tyrannical? Tim McVeigh used his judgement and blew innocents away. How is it that people in other countries do not remotely associate with the sentiment that a militia should be maintained?

I get a chuckle when you say my argument is emotional. If anything, it is more detached and there is curiousness associated with the logic behind the guns in this country. It is our friends Ish and Andy who seem to get emotional and they are the reason why I started putting the disclaimer. I am just putting my views forward on guns from my perspective that inherently any weapons are dangerous and what is wrong in controlling or regulating in such a fashion that there is no harm done at the end of the day.
