Richard and few other posters. In my opinion (uncle will kill me), the question whether the shrub used and sold cocaine, should be viewed in light of the claim of "passionate conservatism". He was screened from the repercussions of his deeds by ..., well, which ever way. But then he has no compassion for kids doing exactly what he did (and if he sold drugs even less) in his state and promulgate against them Draconian laws. That is no compassion, he should have known.

Since we are on an investment thread, it should be known that this is not the first time he managed to "get away with it" unscathed. He clearly violated SEC laws as a board member of HEC, when he was privy to inside information, sold stock prior to a bad quarter and did not report it for six months thereafter (ya, his excuse was that there was a one week period in those six months where the stock was higher then his selling price.) Just be cause he is stupid, does not mean that the law does not apply to him. Furthermore, that blips was still within the time period he failed to report his insider sale.

What bothers me most, however, is that I get the feeling that he does not have a single good idea of his own. PBS had a review of both Bush W. and Gore youth and "political development" and the influence their respective fathers had on them, it was striking to hear W repeat senior's "short snippets" (or sound bits) word for word, not once, but a string of about ten of them. Quite funny.

His most recent "coup" the use of the term "Educational recession" is a clear example how his team attempts to use subliminal persuation rather than intellectual confrontation. The "RATS" and the "Ed Recession" surely came from the same creative (focus group tested) team running his campaign. What worries me is that if the guy gets elected, it is the same moronic team that is going to run the country. I do not have much respect for people that treat a whole nation as if it was a gang of ignorimi that cannot see through the deception of using subliminal messaging.

I have said my, piece, uncle, Richard, I am going to walk to the wall, get the firing squad ready (g).
