No, it's my understanding that there is no widely read newspaper in the U.S. nearly as erudite as FAZ, including NYT or WashingonPost... my [limited] understanding is that it is practically unreadable to the common folk on par with more esoteric industry, economic [economist perhaps?], or government journals here in the U.S.
