Indeed they could, and the fewer predictions made, the more likely that will mostly be consistent.

A side effect of human pattern recognition is that predictions that come true are most likely remembered. People dream almost every night, but if they dream about a piano dropping and the next day find that one has dropped, that is the dream they will remember while forgetting the rest.
