All bad news should be released during trading hours? Are you kidding me? Why, so the nimble can dump first? You have to announce these things after the bell so everyone has a fair chance to digest the news. Especially when you're talking about a California company. I just got nailed with a small cap based in Malibu that got downgraded right at the open, when the company and a lot of its west coast investors were asleep. It traded about 20x normal volume before management finally came in to work and they finally halted it. Then a while later the press release of the shortfall hit the wires.

Shortfalls should be announced after hours, it's the only fair way. I would love to hear why anyone thinks differently.

I'm not so sure how anyone can complain about Apple management either.

As for the stock price, what is it now, 2x book? That's just silly.

I too would like to hear more but maybe it's as simple as they say--disappointing education sales being the one that jumped out at me. I guess if you are stuck with no new iMac models in June when secondary schools are buying, you are in more trouble than we thought. Consumer demand (cube aside) looked pretty strong to me.

Well, the December quarter is about the consumer, not about schools. They could have a quick turnaround and be back to $60+ by MacWorld and Jan. earnings release time.

Ie, might be time for some Jan. 40s?
