Nice heads-up (Ben Wolozin did part of his graduate work in the Roberts/Blum lab at Sinai. A very bright guy - he won a major award from the Society for Neuroscience for his predoctoral work on the Alzheimer's Tau protein)

I'm not up-to-date on the latest perspective of the causal or correlative level of alpha-Synuclein with Lewy Body disease or PD. Mutations in the synuclein gene can lead to a form of familial PD; I'd be curious to know the latest ideas of this gene's role in (the much more common) sporadic form of the disease. Also, if read closely, it's also not clear if the premise - blocking alpha-Synuclein aggregation reduces the degree of pathology - has published supporting evidence. However, the actual paper may reveal how PAN-408 and PAN-527 work and may lend support to the premise. I'd be surprised if the candidates are abs since the crosslinking would exacerbate the aggregation.

Very intriguing - Guess I'll have to read this one.

(And to Richard Harmon - you can live in your wildest dreams about my taking a beating and all the other nonsense you level. The truth is unfathomable to you since it's quite the opposite. How can you possibly make such ignorant statements when you've no idea how my posting behavior on SI correlates to my actual investments. And I make ~100+ posts on the Klic thread and you don't know about that behavior but I make a small fraction of that number on other threads and you're COMPLETELY familiar with those. I get it! Sorry guy - throw out your superiority drivel in other directions; it won't stick here. Ya know Richard, 'I sit here with level II all day' speaks volumes. Oh never mind.)
