Claude, good to have you aboard. My personal favourite is Belair Energy (T.BEC). I recommended them last January at $1.45 / share. They've touched $2.55, but have since settled back to around $2.30. My revised year end target is $3.20 / share. Ken Faircloth from Goepel McD made them his top Jr pick for 2000 in an August publication from same firm. CIBC and Merrill Lynch seem to also be trading the stock and I believe CIBC has it as one of their picks too.

The best advice for the O & G sector.... find out about management. The Jr. sector is full of, hmmmmmm.... players that don't perform (this is a very nice/safe way of putting it).

Do some DD on BEC and let me know what you think. They have a bottleneck of new production that will be going online in the second 1/2 of October, so the next 2 weeks may present a buying opportunity.

Check out their website: www.belairenergy.com

The last email (2 days ago) that I received from their prez, says they should hit $12MM cash flow for 2000. I think that's ambitious (I think $10MM is do-able), but hey, he's running the show. They are about 60% (probably soon to be much higher) gas to oil. They plan to drill 10-12 more wells in the last 1/4, most of which is gas. They have stated this as being their area of focus given its strong fundamentals.

Hope this helps,

P.S. What's your opinion on the golds? If oil stays high, do you think it will make a come back?

Take care,

JT
