one glaring problem with the NEFF report is that he states "handset sales are down".

they're not down - they're up at nearly all firms over last year. NOK couldn't get enough parts to supply all the requested demand. Ericsson is experiencing production and yield problems and not able to supply projected demand (much of this is now changing; as Dell stated component prices are dropping which means that parts are becoming more plentiful - even for handsets).

if we can't trust Neff's handset sales statement, how can we trust his analysis of the PC sector?

handset sales are up over 13%/15% from last year's pace. how can a 15% growth rate translate into "down?" NOK's growth rate remains stuck at 35%. NOK's growth is "down" from 40% per year to 35% equals "down"?

Neff is not a handset sales analyst. so his throwing in "handset sales are down" appears that he's looking for support of a tenuous position
