>Send Lawyers, Guns and MONEY!<

Bill -

Speaking of that, I'd like to ask everyone to ignore any notices you will probably receive by mail from law firms such as Milberg & Weiss, Pomerantz Haudek Block Grossman & Gross, Schiffrin & Barroway, Cauley & Geller, and the many others which are very likely to pile on and initiate class action suits against Apple in the next week or so.

Lawsuits are filed every time any company gets a significant haircut following a warning. They are supposedly filed "on behalf of investors". I believe they are filed only for the benefit of the law firms.

Don't encourage these cynical creeps. These lawfirms exist solely to feed off of these situations. They stand a good chance of collecting nice fees when the company settles (which they most often do) and the investors will receive, at best, a few pennies on the dollar to compensate them for their losses.

For instance, if there is a settlement of a million dollars, the law firm will keep one third of that, for all their diligent work, and the rest will be divided among thousands or tens of investors who have filed to become members of the class. If you've lost 10 grand, you'll be lucky to get a hundred dollars back.

It isn't "better than nothing" and it will not "teach these guys a lesson". It's just an example of how certain people take advantage of the misfortune of others, and of a legal system that has serious problems.

I will now get off my soapbox, and I apologize for presuming to advise anyone.

- Allen
