What I am suggesting is that CNBC ought to be discerning and pass on legitimate news only. That is their responsibility. I think these brokerage houses issue these phoney "upgrades/downgrades" solely to mislead the public, while offering different advice to their traders and big clients. CNBC passing this "news" along at face value- which is what they do 99% of the time- makes them complicit in all this.
