Chic:

12 quarters of flat-to-down revenues, high margin business revs falling while low margin business revs rising, SEC unhappiness over both tax rate shenanigans as well as pension shell games, semi product glut conditions, virtual demise of mainframe sales, continued PC problems (IBM is out of the retail scene, but still a player in the corporate PV situation, which has been a smoking crater all year). Debt levels now evoking rating agencies' threats, institutional unhappiness with Gerstner's sleight-of-hand approach to his financial reporting (rumours of Calpers having scorched a few IBM high rankers over this), visible difficulties of strong competitors suggesting more than "company-specific" problems ahead, etc. I could go on and on (g)

Best, Earlie
