Please understand that doing research in China, finding out market share is very difficult. Most of the infomation are regional. C-Cube may be strong in southern part of China, and ESST may be strong in the middle region (just guessing). If you take regional information and extrapolate, you will get different conclusion. Therefore may be both AB and Fred Chan firmly believe their own interpretation. The truth is very hard to find out until the Q ends. There are no major research houses in China and infomation exchange is relatively inefficient right now. But I believe that will change soon. Because of the volatility, situation can change over night on the up side as well. You never know. One thing I know is that VCD is becoming a very important consumer product. In a recent survey in Shanghai, 20% said they would buy VCD in the next 6 months, 20% in next 6 to 12 months and 12% in the next one to two years. Only 6% said they would wait for two years (I am translating a regional newspaper article here).
