cirruslvr, re: Intel taking action Well i dunno. I think its the customers taking action. They basically told intel to get stuffed with Timna and they've had to can it. Basically the same thing has happened with the Itanium. Now PIV has a problem. Assuming they get the problem fixed and retaped out by Oct 1. They will be lucky to have revised silicon in test by Nov1. So any kind of a "launch" on Nov 20 or even dec 20 will be a vapor launch with "limited testing". They would be better off delaying PiV to Q1 next year and making sure its bug free and available in volume. The "boutique" launch in december will do nothing for earnings except possibly confuse and delay customer purchases. Perhaps ole adam osborne is running intel these days. regards, Kash
