With a 15% overall penalty in 2001 over SDRAM, you better believe it that RDRAM will continue to penetrate deeper and deeper into the mainstream and value market segments. I expect that will start to be felt with the 256Mb part production during 1st quarter of 2001. And guess what? Timna production is coming on line during the same time. I expect by mid-2001, RDRAM to have reached price parity within 5% with SDRAM and to be starting to penetrate new market segments with the P4 and Timna as 256Mb dies present granularity problems for SDRAM. #reply-14409208 [This prediction from a guy who has to admit that he doesn't know the first thing about the technology involved.]

With 256Mbit part coming on line, Timna, lower RDRAM prices in 2001 and the granularity advantage of RDRAM over SDRAM with 256Mb part, will play a big role on the low end as well. #reply-14424963
