chic, It has been so for 20 years. Remember that Gerstner was about the 10th choice for the CEO job. Nobody else would take it, the company was so badly screwed up. Lou has done exactly what everybody who knew him expected. He came from Arthur Anderson originally before he ran that cigarette company. He's purely a generic b-school financial technician. But hey, the company still owns some valuable real estate. And "Vermont Microelectronics" would be a lucrative spinoff. There are quite a few tricks left. (yep I was once a beemer)
