William: Two things on the pre-announcements: 1. They have been dramatic. 2. They cite a sudden unexpected deceleration. Tech companies have customers. Customers are getting squeezed. The pre-announcements to date have been nothing to worry about -- unless you own stock. If there is a serious problem, it will come in the conference calls, when companies barely make their numbers and then confess about what appears to be on the horizon -- a global economic slowdown. This is a puzzle -- each piece adds to the picture -- btw, the oil piece is huge, but no one piece tells the whole story. BTW -- if this is where we are going, owning tech stocks will be like owning Apple.
