Every once in a while the SI home page (and the Yahoo finance one) will not show the composites, so you have no idea how the DOW and NAS are doing (though you can check individual stocks).

For all you know they are both down 200 points.

My theory is that this makes people nervous and they are more prone to dump stocks.
