Now according to Anderson the Sept qtr will come in at about 1.85B or about 7% less revenue, for the qtr, than expected earlier. The eps is now expected to be about 33 cents per share or about 26% less than expected earlier for the qtr.

The reason AAPL dropped so dramatically is because the uncertainty this slowdown brings into the equation. Analysts had this mental picture of a company that had nothing but growth ahead of it, as it delivered on its many promises.

Once it turns out that the growth out of irrelevant niche mode may not hold, it is time to worry. Does this justify AAPL at $25? I don't know, and IMHO nobody will know until more data becomes available.

If this is a one time hiccup, monday will be a good time to buy, if this is a sign of many problems coming to the surface (problems I mentioned elsewhere) then even $25 may be too much for a terminal company.

Which is it? Again I don't know. You guys who followed Apple closely would be the better qualified to analyze this. Forget about crazy markets and 25% drops in earnings, the question is"

Is this a one time thing or a sign of things to come? Why?
