So lets see: Prescott Bush owned one share out of 4000 of a bank that was a holding company for a Dutch bank that was controlled by members of the Thyssen family. These were not the members of the Thyssen family that had bankrolled the Nazis, be it noted. Apparently (I will take your word) he sat on the board of the company which merely held shares for the Dutch bank. The property was turned over to a government custodian, and it was possible to file claims against it for everyone accept the foreign nationals deemed citizens of the enemy nations. There was no other fine or forfeiture involved. Perhaps the fact that it was a Dutch bank caused there to be some lapse before a determination was made that it fell under the prohibition.......
