Ancient history is full of eyewitness accounts of miraculous
encounters with the gods. I will quote you some from the Iliad or
the Aeneid if you like.

It is a very interesting question as to what these accounts mean,
but in no case do they qualify as "evidence". I would not grant that
even to the most reliable of the historical texts, such as Herodotus,
or Caesar, and certainly not to works of poetry or of a religious
nature.

Maybe you should look at the evidence for Mormonism. Those
eyewitnesses lived only a few generations ago.
