Weiner's Stores Inc. Announces Recent Changes in Senior Management
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 29, 2000--Weiner's Stores Inc. (OTCBB:WEIR) today reported that the Board of Directors has elected Mr. Joseph J. Kassa to the position of president of the company effective immediately. Mr. Raymond J. Miller will continue as the company's chairman and chief executive officer.
In making the announcement, Mr. Miller stated, "There couldn't be a better partner than Joe Kassa to help turn this company around. Joe's energy, excitement and passion for this business, coupled with his 25 plus years retail experience, is a winning formula. Mr. Kassa, who has been with Weiner's Stores since 1996, will continue to oversee merchandising and marketing and will take on the additional responsibility of the store division."
The company also reported that it was pleased to announce several other corporate promotions, effective immediately: Michael S. Marcus, vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, has taken on the added responsibility of asset protection. Mr. Marcus has been with the company since 1997. Mr. Marcus will report to Mr. Miller.
David DeLeon, vice president administration, has been promoted to vice president stores. Mr. DeLeon has been with the company since 1986. Mr. DeLeon will report to Mr. Kassa.
Ms. Glenis Webb, manager, training and recruiting, has been promoted to director of human resources. Ms. Webb has been with the company since 1982. Ms. Webb will report to Mr. Miller.
Ms. Tammi Pearson, real estate director, has been promoted to director of real estate, store services and construction. Ms. Pearson has been with the company since 1996. Ms. Pearson will report to Mr. Miller. |
