ISSI: I can't account for the big drop today in the stock price besides the weak market. the volume was quite high. absent of any pre-earnings warning the sell off was way overdone.

why so much dumping today? semis were down... no news, infact the CEO had bullish comments in August on the outlook going forward:

ISSI COMMENTS ON INDUSTRY SECTOR
Company Expects to Continue Strong Growth

Santa Clara, Calif. - August 8, 2000 - Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISSI) today commented that the recently reduced cell phone unit projections in the mobile telephone industry are not expected to have any material impact on ISSI's current business. The company explained that its products sold into the cellular hand set market account for less than 10% of its revenue.

ISSI has recently reported back-to-back high growth quarters. The company's June quarter 2000 revenue of $38.5 million increased 28% over March 2000 and increased 102% over the June 1999 period. The company's March 2000 quarterly revenue of $30.0 million increased 29% over December 1999 and increased 73% over the March 1999 period.

"We currently forecast continued strong growth for ISSI," said Jimmy Lee, Chairman and CEO. "Customer demand is strong and visibility is excellent." The company further commented that industry-wide shortages continue to exist for certain memory products produced by ISSI, such as very high speed asynchronous and synchronous SRAM and low to medium density DRAM. The company is continuing to increase its production volume in response to demand from its key customers.

The company is expected to report a profit and for the qrt vs a loss last year. Next qrt earnings have been revised up 16% in the last 60 days. ISSI should report the year's earnings(4th qrt ends Sept 30) the week of Oct. 23rd.

At $15 the stock is trading @ 7, yes 7 times next year's earnings. How many tech stocks are that cheap?

I think the tech will lead the market rally in the 4th qrt so accumulating some shares on weak days like today I believe will pay off. I didn't have a chance to add today, but will on Monday.
