I was the kid with mostly A's who talked back, who carried on in back of rooms, who made strange noises, who sang offkey, who read with speech defects, who pinched girls, who shot spitwads
once in 8th grade, I had a serious neck injury from a hayloft accident... crushed some vertibrae... had chest cast, asked for wheel chair... didnt need one at all... but saw the opportunity to absolute havoc with another friend who broke leg in football... one day I had the wheelchair in December too close to the radiator heaters... I was sweating like a bandit... so I casually moved the wheelchair to the front of the room... teacher was not on the top of her game, poor Sister Theresa Agnes... TGuerrilla remembers her too
well, I started doing spins with the wheelchair, achieved serious rotations... Sr Theresa was horribly upset at me, slapped me on the side of the head... I pretended to become paralyzed in the neck... here I was in a chest cast up to my neck, in a wheelchair, pretending now to suffer neck paralysis from a headslap... I took it for all it was worth for 15 minutes... she pleaded with me not to be dying... I finally burst into laughter, and the 35 kids in the class roared in laughter... it was one of the finest moments of my life... the class ALL knew I was pulling a ruse
