justone- Clap, clap from me too. Great post about HDSL and !HDSL. We did hit the subject in quite a few posts waaaay upstream(I can't find them now). We were all discussing Adtran(ADTN) in detail. From what I recall the stock price was around $20/share at that time. And I'm afraid it was I who brought to the discussion about how HDSL was an older xDSL technology and I didn't think it was going to make it. LOL! That was the second most dumb access technology investing mistake I made. The first being not realizing the value of the cable plants before Armstrong bid for TCI. I should be ashamed of these two errors because I call myself a legacy investor.<g>

Well a few experts on this thread pointed out the value of HDSL(I believe Bernard was one of them) and I didn't listen. I believe a few LMT followers did and probably made out quite well with a ADTN investment.

I'm sure you know this but ADTN took most of the business away from the former Pairgain. This put the market cap of PAIR in the toilet. Then in swoops ADCT to make one of it's patented moves to almost steal PAIR at market value. So now this makes ADCT a HDSL power to be reckoned with as you point out.

Now the real question is, just how long can the HDSL business continue(which is almost a stealth DSL technology for lack of stats) and what success will HDSL2 have on the both the HDSL and !HDSL markets?

If HDSL2 is going to be successful as apparently HDSL is, then who will be best positioned to take advantage of it rolling out? Copper exhaust appears to be a big problem around my area. If it looks anything like this around the country, then I would say HDSL2 may have a bright intermediate term future. What's your opinion on HDSL2? Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)
