Sure it is the ritual of discussion and debate. That's the ritual. The worship is the discovery process of that which is true and the that which is false. Some of us here actually believe in [gG]od or a [gG]od-like force. If we are a cult we are cult of reason and logical debate.

Now I don't think that we use mind control or unethical manipulation. My point was that the label cult is so vague that it is meaningless in attacking the ideas presented by someone HERE.

Frankly I still don't see it. I would not have walked into a real room, seen these discussions in words and walked away thinking I had seen a cult in action.

My metaphor was lost. I described a connected web of people that are seeking to redefine religion in modern terms, using modern rules, and a tool that seems to be empowering people and redefining "workplace", "commuting", and dare I say, "God". Is the God of the internet adequately described by the Sunday School metaphysics or the random writings of an ancient superstitious people? I've never been put on "Ignore" nor been told I was in a "cult". That really freaked me out - probably more than it should have.

Oh well.
