This stock moved smartly, yesterday.

We hope that the next administration and congress will keep new bills to a minimum. The budget for next year while it may be larger than this year, which is closing as we look on; is a modest one(goverment will spend less than $600 billion). I am hoping that we can get on with more water resources programs again, since Jimmy Carter stopped them all.

On the other hand, the actual spending is controlled by people who has sentiments to remain on their jobs and not retire earlier. Medicare is not expensive if good food and lack of stress keep us health. Surplus is expected to be $70-100 billion for social security and Medicare.

The other big spending on military preparedness, is mostly transportation related. Quick in and out, in the troubled spots around the world. Missile defense is not technically feasible for high speed long range attack missiles. No sensors(not long enough distance) or computers are speedy enough to fire defense missiles, capable to shoot them down in a safe place. So, we may spend about $275 billion without useless antimissiles.

Then the FEDs are repo(ssessing) the treasury bills and bonds reducing the annual interests to about $150 billion.

The tax collection will be about $1.8 trillion less $1.5 trillion actual spending to give us a surplus of $300 billion. So, congress is having an easy time of it, even though they will take time to pass the budget until November when this year's results will be in. We hope they will keep their hands off citizen's freedom to pursuit happiness.
