yes, Rose's values and mine are diametrically opposed when it comes to DECENCY and CONSIDERATION.
All I have ever requested is that anyone posting on a thread that bears my Pen Name be considerate of those unsuspecting individuals who would be profoundly offended by Rose's chosen vernacular. I know of at least two families who no longer read the thread together in their financially educational vein because of the language she so proudly displays.
The last time I looked, DECENCY and CONSIDERATION were still a part of the English language. I am not trying to come across as sanctimonious for I have used every term she so proudly post a hundred times over but I still have a code of conduct as I am quite confident most do here, of DECENCY and CONSIDERATION depending on the forum. I doubt that Rose would ever choose to use those terms with her own grandchild of age but she thinks nothing of expounding her favorite vernacular without regard as to who may be viewing.
Almost every adult I know and especially couples I know, have a self imposed code of conduct when it comes to her favorite type of language and it is based on two things, DECENCY and CONSIDERATION.
I have always considered Rose one of the most intelligent of our lot, but I feel it is a thousand times better to have COMMON SENSE without intelligence than intelligence without common sense.
As for giving up on her, her status in my world has little to do with me and everything to do with her. An individual to my way of thinking may be addicted to many vices and yet there may be hope of reclaiming them but the moment they lose all sense of character, that is the moment all hope of reclaiming them perishes with me. I have to admit, I am a somewhat amused at your reference to a certain value or principle that Rose might hold and especially the fact intimated by you, this entire scenario is based. Well, I have known several people in my life that have retained their self respect long after they had lost their regard for principle but looking back never one who retained their regard for principle after they had lost their self respect. If Rose destroys this, she destroys everything, and to me, an individual who does not respect his or her self, respects nothing.
Like the saying goes- " You have to stand for something or
you'll fall for anything ".
I am simply standing for decency and consideration nothing more.
