Larry,

"looking to short"

You'll get no arguement from me, re: shorting. Selling short is merely a instrument to make money. No different than going long in a bull trend. I realize that shorting is viewed as making money from someone elses losses, but IMO when you buy stock long from someone else and gain, whoever you bought the stock from lost that gain by selling you the stock. Obviously a great number of people no longer look upon shorting with such distain or there would not be record short positions in the overall market.

One word of caution though on shorting. The market in general is very oversold and moving sideways with no real direction up or down...the saying goes "never short a sideways market" I would adhere to that unless you see some obvious parabolic moves for little or no reason. Presently I'm watching RDRT for just such an opp. If it can't sustain 12 over the next week then I'll be short the stock back to 10.
