Cash Value

The last time SanDisk traded near cash value was in the
Fall of 1998 when suffering a bad case of the Asian Flu,
after reporting successively disappointing revenues
from Q4 of 1997, after issuing a profit warning and
after a severe downturn in the NASDAQ that took no prisoners.

Look at the quarterly results since Q3 of 1998...

GROSS REVENUES ($MILLIONS)

Quarters 1997 1998 1999 2000
MARCH 21,444 34,102 44,136 109,369
JUNE 27,347 31,361 52,549 143,949
SEPT 36,144 32,078 67,534
DEC 40,318 38,220 82,771

To see SanDisk trading at cash value again would require an
cataclysmic decline in the market. If that is what is anticipated
then fund managers would be 100% cash right now.

Having said that, I am unnerved by the upcoming election,
rising oil and natural gas prices and The October Effect.
