The company's highest expense, labor costs for couriers, who average about 2.5 deliveries an hour, has stayed at about $12 per hour. Other overhead costs — rent at $10 to $12 per square foot, management costs, technology and others — have led to deficits. But Kozmo officials, who refused to discuss their balance sheets in detail, expect to make a profit in Manhattan soon.
The keys, said officials at the company, which has four warehouses in Manhattan, are to increase the number of deliveries couriers make per trip and the amount each customer is paying per order, and to build warehouses that can quickly get orders off the shelves. (Kozmo's newest warehouse in Manhattan, on East 45th Street near First Avenue, can process every order in about one minute, officials said.)
You can tell this is an Amazon company. Balance sheet is a secret and profitability soon?? Soon can be millions of years depending upon the time frame reference.
