Interesting that many smart people including some bears like Don Hays are taking about another strong, if brief, stock rally soon. They are basing this on such technical signals as the McClellan oscillator that is again at levels that have been followed by strong rallies again and again in recent years. This reflects a kind of bearish arrogance -- "yes I know the market is going down a lot, but I am smart play the bull to the last second and get out just before the crash" -- that cost a lot of people dearly in 1987.
