Serious Questions Regarding Palm:

I truly do not mean the following questions as knocks against Palm. They are the industry leader and have a leading market share in a dynamic marketspace. I have long wondered why the situation is what it is when I go to any consumer electronics store.

Two CC's ago, Carl indicated consumers don't care about speed or 8 mb or 16 mb, they want a simple product that works. I recognize that the average consumer does want this. If Carl's thought process remains the same, then this probably addresses my below questions as well.

I recognize these concerns are being addressed by Palm's management, but I wonder why the status quo is what it is.

1) Why does Palm have a current maximum 8 MB product? Is it simpify an industry component shortage? Does management feel consumers do not want a higher MB product?

2) Why does Palm's current color product, Palm IIIC, have such an inferior color screen compared to the competition (i.e., Compaq iPaq H3650)? Component shortage? Management doesn't feel color is important?

3) Has anybody heard of any anticipated new product Palm offerings prior to the holiday season? I thought I heard Carl say new offerings would be available for the holiday season. This was a couple of months ago on CNBC.
I don't recall any mention of product offerings on the CC.

Thanks for any feedback.
