Thank you Solon.
I did some of that already. I will be doing more tomorrow. I am also going to call my GP and my kids pediatrician and leave a message to tell them of my concerns.

On a related subject did you know Calif is one of only two states that has an emergency plan ready for a major flu epidemic? A flu similar to the killer 1918 flu strain hits approximately every 40 years. The last killer was, if I remember, in 1968. I want to see measures implemented in my city that would insure in the event of a health epidemic people are urged to minimize contacts to prevent the acceleration of the spread of a disease. This kind of plan would be useful in the event of any communicable disease epidemic- at the moment people are woefully ignorant of both the dangers we face from such epidemics and of the measures needed to curtail the spread of communicable diseases.
