I cheated when I got my colonoscopy and only drank about half of the vile 4 liter bottle. I started gagging after a while, even though I put fruit punch syrup in the stuff to make it less loathsome. They didn't send me home, so I guess I took enough, but I'm looking forward to taking the pills next time. BTW, if you get a colonoscopy, see if they'll put you out--I was just hooked up to an IV and the sedative drip didn't stop me from experiencing REALLY bad pain from the procedure. But since they removed a pre-cancerous polyp, I guess it was worth it. Still, I understand that if you don't have a cheap HMO like Kaiser you might be able to get put under, and I recommend it.
