DataMirror Introduces Beta Program for New Oracle Data Resiliency Solution
DataMirror Corporation (TSE:DMC), a leading provider of e-Business data integration and resiliency solutions, announced today that it intends to leverage its expertise in real-time data replication, resiliency and clustering solutions to deliver a high performance, cost-effective solution for Oracle High Data Availability (HDA).
DataMirror also unveiled the preliminary details of its new Oracle HDA Beta program to over 20,000 business executives, IT professionals and application developers from the Oracle global community at Oracle OpenWorld 2000, the world's largest conference of Oracle e-Business solutions.
The purpose of the Oracle HDA Beta program is to solicit ongoing feedback and suggestions from customers as they implement, evaluate and utilize the Beta test version of DataMirror's data resiliency software for Oracle. Over the next six months, DataMirror developers will work closely with Beta customers to build a robust Oracle high data availability and resiliency solution that meets the challenges of today's real-world processing and business environments. Applications for Beta participants will be accepted via the web beginning November 1st by visiting datamirror.com.
"Globalization, business consolidation, and the Internet have driven the need for true 24/7 data availability," said Nigel Stokes, Chairman, President and CEO of DataMirror Corporation. "Companies now routinely have thousands of employees, customers, and suppliers all over the world accessing their Oracle-based systems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An Oracle high data availability offering represents a tremendous opportunity for DataMirror to further extend its product line into the lucrative Oracle market space while providing customers with a much needed Oracle resiliency solution. We believe that 96% of the Fortune e50 runs Oracle and we know that resilient solutions are part of the software customer's need for the Internet."
This announcement is another in a series of ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening DataMirror's presence in the global Oracle economy. DataMirror recently completed the acquisition of the assets of Constellar Corporation of Redwood Shores, California. Constellar's EAI software ensures that companies' application data is available to any other application to create integrated end-to-end e-business solutions. It includes pre-built interfaces to major ERP packages such as Oracle, SAP and PeopleSoft. DataMirror expects to integrate Constellar Hub, a leading Oracle based Enterprise Application Integration tool, with DataMirror's complete family of Transformation Server real-time data integration tools, to provide Oracle customers with a completely integrated end-to-end solution that includes replication and resiliency.
