We recently purchased some KREM stock and had the first opportunity to try the actual doughnut while waiting for a train at Penn Station ,NY. I don't know how long the shop has been there, but the line was long while folks passing by were drawn by the incredible smell of the always baking goods. Like gladman said when he started this thread, these truly are the best doughnuts in the whole wide world. We tried two doughnuts each before the train even came and were tempted to finish off the dozen before bringing them home to share.I have never tasted anything so wonderful!(Maybe in France..)But the best part was, they keep well. The next day, when our usual Dunkin Donuts would have been soggy and inedible, not to mention rather discouraging to look at, the Krispy Kreme Donuts were as good as they were the day before. We have never EVER finished a whole dozen of DD, but these KREM were gone in two days!
