In 3 hours, there were 12 alerts of some IP that were turned down.

LOL! Yah, it's kind'a eye-opening to see the number of times remote sites you may have visited suddenly begin "sniffing" around your home base. I don't know if they're trying to update their cookies, or pull down some of the various "consumer" data they may have set up via said cookie on your machine, or merely an "are you still there" type of ping. In any event all of it's un-welcomed intrusions into my machine.

You should also get Neotracer, which gives a marvelous set of data (both graphical and in matrix format) about how many intermediary links (as well as internodal latency/speed figures, etc.) your ping goes through from your IP address to the one trying to reach you. You'd be surprised (I caught one coming from a Chinese news web-site in China--admittedly a site I use to monitor local Asian news from as far as Korea to Singapore to Taiwan--heh)...

Meanwhile....I see WSTL's still having trouble getting out of its own way. Much like the rest of the NAZ. If folks are expecting October to be a nice month...well...it isn't exactly starting off that way. But hey, the day (not to mention the month) is still young, so let's see how it goes from here.

John~
