combjelly,

I am sure the Scimitar from Micron will support registered DDR, the Samarai for the PIII will. I would also be surprised if the 760 and 760MP doesn't also.

I am sure they will. Not all motherboards may support registered DIMMs, but the chipsets will support it.

My point was a support for more than 4 DIMMs on the motherboard. Currengly, I believe all the chipset in the pipeline are limited to 4 DIMMs.

What would be a real coup is if ServerWorks decided to support Mustang. That would be huge.

One thing on the horizon that may prove to be a very pleasant surprise is NVDA chipset supporting dual channel DDR. This thing could support 8 DIMMs and it could become a server chip. I bet this may be a secret plan of NVDA.
