How does the NUMA style system help you if all you need is a lot of memory 4 GB or more, but you don't care about extra processors - if 1 or 2 are good enough. Would you have more than 1 set of the equivalents of 760 mobo, each with it's onw 4 DIMMs, and LDT would be used to if processor on module 1 requested data from module 2?

I guess this would introduce Rambus style latencies to the picture (if not worse).

Another question re: NUMA Would a system like this need any kind of optimization from the OS?
