Working together, Sun and Oracle have introduced a variety of programs and technologies that have been instrumental in expanding the Net Economy. Additionally, Sun systems and the Solaris 8 Operating Environment continue to serve as a key development platform for Oracle Internet products, including Oracle9i, the next-generation of Internet computing software, announced this week at Oracle OpenWorld.

-- Oracle's platinum sponsorship of Sun Technology Days -- a comprehensive series of two day events highlighting the most current software concepts available to developers. It will take place in 15 cities from October 2000 -- May 2001. This tour, which features Sun and Oracle technology experts, will provide developers with the technology, training and tools necessary for developing competitive applications for the Internet, intranet and enterprise.

The two companies are partnering to build best practice guidelines and templates for disaster recovery capabilities, including extending replicated database technology for use in case of catastrophic system failure.

Oracle8i achieved SunTone certification in July 2000.

The Oracle Migration Workbench version 1.3 is scheduled to ship with every copy of the Solaris 8 Operating Environment. The Oracle Migration Workbench version 1.2.2 for the Solaris platform was first introduced in January 2000. To date, more than 250,000 copies have been shipped to Sun customers.
