Dot-coms are laying off to be profitable, home may be next. If they won't consider spinning Excite out, ATHM has to consider focusing time and money toward their growing business (subs) and away from their dying business (portal). This company can be profitable with the current number of subs, afterall they were close last year with half the present number. I don't mean to be callous about layoffs, but they aren't doing anybody any good losing money. 300K subs per quarter can't float a whole lot of employees, and certainly not the stock.
