I meant the companies that Intel has acquired, and that are losing money. Intel 's earning growth rate from semiconductors has been very good, but the new companies results have negated some of the growth. It's a judgement call if these "investments" in businesses that are losing money, at least short term, is wise.

re: I have read a number of posts from a number of people on this thread that indicated that pe of intel is on the low side and that it should be inline with internet companies.

I haven't read those posts, in fact most folks thought Intel was pushing it's valuation when it was trading at 70+. There are a few on the AMD thread that think Intel should just close up shop, game over. They believe AMD, however, is going to the moon. Do you really think AMD investors have more reasonable expectations than Intel investors?
