Since a substantial (I haven't been able to find out how much) part of the SPR is sulfur-tainted sour crude, one wonders how happy the refiners are to be pumping this into their overtaxed equipment. This stuff was meant for powering naval vessels and possibly distilling into jet fuel in a military emergency.

it's all so nutty. I am a democrat but am deeply chagrined at this political folly of trying to buy votes with oil.

I'd vote for Bush except that his idea of drilling Alaska is only another version of the same thing. Alaska ought to be our ultimate SPR.

maybe after the election, whoever wins will get some intelligent advice that will help actually solve the probelms.
