I did a report on this company when I was in College in the early 90's. It has been hit hard every few years. Drexler and the Fisher family (the founders) have rolled up their sleeves and gone back to basic fashion staples like khaki pants, t shirts and white tops. They have diversified their brand with Old Navy at the low end and Banana Republic at the high end. If the market goes back to dress up days, Banana Republic is well positioned to serve this market.

Gap will also be expanding internationally, with Old Navy in Canada and more Gap stores in the U.K.

I would like to engage the board in a discussion about how the company can better execute.I.E. better inventory mgmt, less domestic expansion, more basic fashion styles.

I think it will recover within 2 years.
