If we all could be honest with ourselves and each other for a few minutes I think we'd all find out we want the same things. We just disagree about what path our country should take to get there.

Many of the current talk shows like to describe Democrats as people like you have just written. However, I am a Democrat and that doesn't describe me so I have to dispute your words.

I really think that both sides are guilty of the same but I vote Democrat cause they tend to support and uphold individual freedoms.....civil liberties....free speech...choice,etc.

When I was first starting out in the working world I was caught up in Nelson Rockefeller's NYS and Nixon's wage freezes. Heck I even got a raise and took home 10/week less. I watched all of upper management just give themselves a new title and therefore legitimize their big raises.

I have found just the opposite is true of Democrats as to wanting to get involved into controlling aspects of one's life. Pat Robertson and his CC seems to want to control moral questions and would institute laws that would govern religious matters. I heard Gore Vidal on C-span last night and thought he was pretty smart when he said that the political party that controls religion will quickly turn the populous into it's pawns. Scary.....

JUst some thoughts.....

If we all got together and stopped allowing our politicians to polarize us we would probably force ALL politicians to serve us better.
