<<From the article... "Tabrizi said he was suspicious about Rambus' motives for joining JEDEC from the start. Why would a small company selling a proprietary memory technology want to join a standard-setting group, when it clearly was not going to push direct Rambus DRAM (RDRAM) as an open standard?"

And so the (at the time) Hitachi VP kept these suspicions to himself and took no actions to research or monitor Rambus' patent applications in the U.S. and Europe? If that's the case, then there's definitive proof the Peter Principle is alive and well in the semiconductor industry.>>

The above thanks to Dave on the FOOL

This is now laughable IMHO. JEDEC members are digging their own grave.
Hitachi VP was suspicious but took no actions by his own accord!
1)They are suspicious.
2)They did not look up patent numbers
3)They did not do patent research
4)RMBS signed nothing
5)Other members of JEDEC did not disclose their patents
6)MU does not contest patents at all but bases entire case on JEDEC

Zeev, are there any legal doctrines on this that you are aware of?
