I agree with you regarding the abortion issue and the Republicans. However, there are many active Republicans who are pro choice. In other areas, I cannot see how you wouldn't have more freedom and opportunity with the Republican over the Democrat. I don't think a Libertarian would want to take over the health care system. I don't think we would be ahead with government running it. I can't cite you chapter and verse but I saw a television show about the VA Hospitals and I believe Medicare. It showed they paid 10 to 20 times more for equipment and medical supplies than the private sector. They have contracts they have to honor and do not get good bids. I think government is by it's very nature wasteful and the private sector can do nearly anything better than government. I can buy the Libertarian very much and wish they were a viable party. I cannot buy the Democrats for reasons I have stated before. I consider them really power hungry and want a centralized government with high taxes and many programs. Most wasteful and poorly managed.
